Updated: Jun 16, 2023

Are you looking for a fun and easy day trip from Toronto? Just a short drive away, Niagara Falls awaits! Niagara Falls is a great destination for wintertime fun, because there's so many things to do with the whole family here in Niagara Falls. Which is why I'm excited to share some of my favorite things to do in winter at our beautiful falls - all within walking distance from each other!

This family day, me and my sisters were together for the first time so decided to celebrate the weekend in Niagara Falls. It was my millionth time visiting Niagara but was the first time for my elder sister who came to Canada in December last year. Join me as we explore some of our favourite places that you should visit in Niagara Falls this winter! Watch & enjoy!

1. Niagara Falls Walk & Illumination

Niagara Falls is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North America for good reason – it's awe-inspiring! Whether you are looking for natural beauty or want to take in some of the region's history, there is no shortage of things to do and see in Niagara Falls. This world-famous spot is best seen on foot, and there are three falls to check out.

The three main falls are American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. Each has its own personality and viewing spots that are worth exploring. Not just that, every evening beginning at dusk, Niagara Falls is transformed into an incredible, multi-coloured water and light masterpiece that create a breathtaking view not to be missed.

You could spend a whole day here easily, but if you're short on time, follow my itinerary shown in the video.

2. Skylon Tower

The Skylon Tower is a must-visit attraction in Niagara Falls. This 775-foot structure that sits on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls offers stunning views of the falls and the surrounding area. It is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Whether you're looking to take in the sights from above or enjoy a delicious meal at one of the on-site restaurants, the Skylon Tower is definitely worth checking out. As an added bonus, admission to the Ride-to-the-Top and Observation Decks attractions are always FREE when dining! The Revolving Dining room restaurant silently rotates 360 degrees every hour, giving diners a constantly changing vantage point. It is estimated that more than 125 km are viewable from the dining room. It really is the most breathtaking view in all of Niagara Falls.

3. Clifton Hill Activities

With its assortment of entertainment options, restaurants and shops, Clifton Hills has something for everyone. From attractions and historical sights to casinos and nightlife, there's something for everyone in this vibrant district. Located just one block to the Horseshoe Falls along the Niagara river, the Street of Fun is a must-visit for families, couples and sightseers in North America. Clifton Hill's exciting array of attractions includes the latest and most exciting addition of the Niagara Speedway, unforgettable Hornblower Niagara Cruises situated at the bottom of Clifton Hill, or surrounding Niagara Parks attractions on Clifton Hill featuring: Queen Victoria Park and the Oakes Garden Theatre, overlooking the Falls. Some of my most favorite attractions include Movieland Wax Museum, Dinosaur Adventure Golf, Ripley's Believe it or not, Zombie attach and House of Frankenstein.

So whatever your interests, be sure to add Clifton Hills onto your itinerary during your visit to Niagara Falls!

4. Niagara Skywheel

There's something about a giant Ferris wheel that just makes you feel like a kid again. And the Niagara Skywheel is no exception – it offers stunning views of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. If you're looking for a unique and breathtaking way to view Niagara Falls, look no further than the Niagara SkyWheel! Located on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, Canada, this giant Ferris wheel offers spectacular panoramic views of both the Canadian and American falls. Be sure to check out this iconic attraction!

5. Breakfast at iHOP Fallsview

If you're looking for a place to eat in Niagara Falls, Canada, you can't go wrong with Ihop Fallsview. You'll definitely want to check out Ihop Fallsview 26th floor located in Canada. Featuring amazing views of the falls, this restaurant is sure to provide an unforgettable dining experience. Soaring high above the Horseshoe Falls, Ihop Fallsview 26th floor offers visitors a unique vantage point from which to take in one of nature's most impressive displays. The food is also great - we enjoyed a delicious omelette breakfast here! Be sure to make reservations ahead of time, as this place can get pretty busy.

There's no shortage of fun activities to keep you busy during the colder months in Niagara Falls. So what are you waiting for? Start planning your next trip today! Feel free to let me know your feedback in the comments below or share some of your Niagara favourites with me!
